Fire guts 100-year-old house

City fire investigators were trying to determine Tuesday if lightning was to blame for a Monday night fire that destroyed the law office of prominent environmental attorney Jimmy Chandler.

Firefighters received a call about the fire at 430 Highmarket St. at about 11:19 p.m., minutes after a severe storm erupted over the area. The call was made by City Councilman Paige Sawyer . . .
