A Wildly Resilient Evening: 12th Annual Wild Side Recap

The 12th Annual Wild Side was held on Saturday, October 2nd at the beautiful Kaminski House lawn in the heart of Georgetown.

Hundreds of our supporters joined us for the 12th Annual Wild Side. All photos by Tanya Ackerman.

Under the theme Wildly Resilient, our guests enjoyed an evening of live music by Columbia folk-pop duo Prettier Than Matt, tasty Lowcountry fare from Philomena's Catering, cocktails and a fabulous online auction.

Our featured speaker, J Henry Fair, a Charleston-born artist and environmental activist showcased his stunning photography of Earth’s landscapes.

In her remarks, Executive Director Amy Armstrong explained why the evening’s theme could not be more fitting.

“This past year your Lawyers for the Wild Side have been resilient in continuing to bear down against threats to our natural environment and the health and well-being it supports,” she said. “We have spoken out at public hearings and thwarted harmful projects. We have held local, state and federal officials accountable in their deci- sion-making. And of course, we have filed new lawsuits. More importantly, we’ve been successful in those efforts to protect our land, water and communities.”

It was a wonderful and meaningful occasion, and we are so grateful to the many businesses, organizations, volunteers, friends and family who made this event possible and more successful year after year since 2010.
