Rural character. Country lifestyles. These northern Greenville County natives say growth is ruining that.

Many northern Greenville County natives don’t like what’s happening in their community.

Subdivisions are sprouting on farmlands, pastureland, and open spaces there. Traffic has increased and roads are clogging. Urban sprawl is filtering in.

Natives like Roland Pittman, Ben Few, and Heather Collins, along with longtime residents, are part of efforts to preserve the rural character and country lifestyle that defines the area.

Pittman was also in a movement that stopped the area from being zoned.
